ABOUT ME
Following a law degree at Cambridge, I embarked upon a career, lasting forty years, as a London based solicitor specialising in construction industry disputes, both domestic and international, and the drafting of industry contracts.
I was Head of Construction at a leading firm of solicitors, tasked with developing specialist teams, in which capacity I was able to attract leading names from the construction industry as clients. A particular speciality was acting for consultants.
Towards the end of my career as a solicitor I qualified as a mediator and conducted a number of mediations. This process was a very welcome alternative to the lengthy and costly process of litigation, and has now achieved its rightful place in the repertoire of dispute resolution.
Throughout my career I undertook pro bono work for various professional bodies, and devised training courses for use within law firms, and gave presentations and seminars for lawyers and construction industry practitioners.
